How do I convert Mbps to MB/s?
Divide by 8, because there are 8 bits in a byte. A 100 Mbps connection gives at most 12.5 MB/s.
Why is my download slower than my plan?
Mostly because plans are sold in megabits while download managers report megabytes — a factor of 8. On top of that, protocol overhead takes a few percent, and Wi-Fi, network congestion and the source server all cap real throughput below the advertised ceiling.
How fast is 300 Mbps in MB/s?
300 ÷ 8 = 37.5 MB/s at the theoretical maximum. A 5 GB file would take at least about 2 minutes 15 seconds at that rate.
Does this use 1000 or 1024?
1000. Network data rates are decimal by convention, so 1 Mbps is exactly 1,000,000 bits per second — unlike file sizes, which operating systems report using binary 1024-based steps.
